My Book I did my thematic book report on the adventurous Leonardo's Shadow by Christopher Grey. Summary
This book was about a young boy who was saved my Leonardo da Vinci. Leonardo gave him the name Giacomo because he couldn't remember his name after almost falling to his death. Leonardo took Giacomo into his home and made him his servant he recovered. Giacomo became very fond of painting so he practiced drawing alone in his room hoping one day he would show his master (Leonardo) his work. He makes friends and enemies. He helps Leonardo with many tasks and almost dies because of his loyalty. This book is full of adventure, astonishment, and suspenseful. This book is a page-turner and i strongly recomend it if you love Italy like I do!

Their are many different plots in this book which makes it interesting. One is Giamoco tries to impress Leonardo so he will give him painting lessons. Another one is to get the Last Supper done in time for the Pope. Also he has to find a way to pay all his debts so they don't throw him out of his own house. The last plot is he has to make a machine to impress the duke so he can fight the french.

It takes place in Milan, 1497

Giamoco wants to help Leonardo finish the painting, but his master won't give him painting lessons. Leonardo also is running out of time to pay off the people he owes. Giamoco is also told to get a invention from Leonardo because he brought the wrong painting to him. Will he do the tasks before him or will he flee to France?
